International Mother Language Day celebrated on 21st February as the recognition of the great sacrifice of language martyrs. On 21st February, there will be general holidays in all the institutions of Bangladesh. A total of 1-day leave will be allocated here.

Birthday Of The Father Of The Nation

There will be public holidays all over the country on 17th March on the birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. A total of 1 day holidays can be enjoyed here.

Independence Day (26 March)

The great Independence Day of the country is the National Day of Bangladesh. On March 26, there will be the public holiday throughout the country to commemorate the Independence Day. There will be a total of 1 day holiday to this day.

Buddha Purnima

May Day

EID UL FITR is the day of the biggest religious festival of the Muslims. On the occasion of EID UL FITR, there will be holidays all over the country on June 16. National Mourning Day

On August 15, there will be public holidays throughout the country on the occasion of death anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. The total number of holidays for national mourning day is 1 day.

Eid Ul Azha

The probable date of the holy Eid-ul-Adha is on August 22. So there will be the holiday in this day all over the country. However, Adha’s holiday is dependent on seeing the moon. The total number of holidays for the festival of EID UL AZHA is 1 day.

Shuvo Janmashtami

Shuvo Janmashtami is the sacred day for the people of Hindu religion. There will be a general holiday throughout the country on this day. The holiday will be effective on September 2. The total holiday is 1 day also on this day.

Durga Puja

On October 19, there will be a general holiday throughout the country on the occasion of the holy Durga Puja of Hindu religion. the total holiday will be also 1 day on this day.

EID E MILLADUNNABI (S)

On 21st of November, the birth anniversary of the greatest Prophet Muhammad (s) will be the holiday in the whole country. The birthday of Prophet Muhammad (s) will be celebrated in proper religious dignity. A total of 1 day holiday can be enjoyed this day. EID E Milladunnabi (S) vacation is dependent on seeing the moon.

Victory Day of Bangladesh

Bangladesh achieved independence from Pakistan on December 16 after the 9 months long fighting. December 16 is our great Victory Day. On this day, there will be holiday throughout the country and all the martyred freedom fighters will be remembered. The total number of holidays for Victory Day is 1 day.

Birthday Of Zishu Christ

Shab E Meraz is held on the occasion of the departure of the Prophet (s). Optional holidays can be enjoyed on April 15 for Shab E Meraz. However, the holiday is dependent on seeing the moon. Total holiday is 1 day.

Akheri Chahar Somba

On the occasion of the last 4 days of the departure of the Prophet (s), it will be possible to take the optional holiday. Possible date of holiday is on November 7. But the actual date depends on seeing the moon.

Fateha E Yazdahm

On the occasion of Fateha E Yazdahm, it is possible to take an optional holiday on December 19. But the actual holiday is dependent on seeing the moon.

Bank Holidays Bangladesh 2018

All government and non-government officials of Bangladesh will also be able to enjoy the holidays. They will get two holidays a week as the government job holder. Apart from this, bankers will be able to enjoy all general holidays and executive orders holidays. Likewise, they will also get the benefit of enjoying optional 3 days holidays according to their respective religion. Bank officials will get bank holidays for two special days.
