Halloween 2019 – Happy Halloween Status, Wishes, Images. Today is Halloween 2019 in the World. Every Year, 31st October Celebrate Halloween 2019 in United States and Worldwide. On October 31, children dress up as Batman, the Joker, Wonder Woman or some other favorite character.
Halloween 2019 is an unofficially Holiday and celebrates all of the many nuts which exist in the world today. Going back in time, Halloween is fascinating because it has lots of practices that hearken back to its pagan origins.
As with so many other curious celebration and action days from the United States, unfortunately, in the case of the National Halloween Day, almost nothing seems to be known about its origins. At least when it comes to specific names or the year in which this event was first celebrated.
Why do you actually carve pumpkins for Halloween?
Although the thesis of a continuous development of Celtic customs to the modern variant in the research is considered outdated and untenable, it can be assumed that much of this tradition came mainly through the Irish immigrants to the United States. This also applies to the carving of pumpkins, which goes back to the following story.
- Legend has it that Irish villain Jack Oldfield, a practicing fraudster and drinker, lured the devil to a tree by trickery and caught him there with a cross carved into the trunk. As usual with Beelzebub, the old hag, there was a deal between him and the Irishman, who offered the henchman the freedom in exchange for the promise never to bother him or his soul again. An eternal metaphysical license, so to speak.
- After his death, however, Jack had a problem. Because of his bad deeds he was denied access to paradise and hell did not want him because of the deal on the tree. But now that the dead man’s soul had to go somewhere, the devil took pity and gave Jack a turnip with a glowing piece of coal in it. This should give him some light on his eternal walk in the dark of darkness between heaven and hell.
